Since its inception, the Diplomatic Institute has been striving through its public appearances to bring young people to the multi-layered and diverse world of international relations and to promote the diplomatic profession by presenting its various dimensions and subtleties. 

For this purpose, the institute partners with youth and student organizations and organizes various youth programs, initiatives and practical seminars.

Open Doors

The "Open Doors" program is aimed at Bulgarian and foreign students and academic communities. The institute "opens" its doors to them, as household visits, to which it presents its activities and the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the essence of the diplomatic profession, the role of the diplomatic service, as well as the opportunities for career development in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Current topics and practical issues in the field of international relations and Bulgarian foreign policy are also discussed.

Open Doors

The "Internship at the Diplomatic Institute" program offers a year-round opportunity to conduct educational practice for students from both Bulgarian and foreign universities.

The internship program aims to help them gain practical experience, as well as to get acquainted with the nature of the work at the diplomatic institute and to orient themselves in the choice of their professional realization.

Youth Delegates to the United Nations

The Diplomatic Institute is a long-term partner of the "Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations" program, conducted by the United Nations Society, and traditionally participates with its representative in the final round for the selection of youth delegates.

Essay contests

Together with partners, the institute also organizes national essay competitions on current European, regional and global issues, which aim to actively engage young people in foreign policy processes in the country and abroad.

Specialized workshops

The institute also conducts specialized seminars on topics such as diplomatic protocol and etiquette, digital diplomacy and strategic communications for representatives of the student and youth organizations with which it partners – Student Diplomatic Club, the Youth Section of the Society for the United Nations in Bulgaria, etc.
