With the creation of the Diplomatic Institute, it became possible to open the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to publicity, both national and international – to civil society, the non-governmental sector, academic institutions, young people.

His public activity began to contribute to greater visibility and better intelligibility of the functioning of the diplomatic service, to increase its popularity and authority among the wider public. In this dimension, the Diplomatic Institute is becoming a kind of center of Bulgaria’s public diplomacy.

In order to promote public discussions on current issues of Bulgarian foreign policy and diplomacy and on other internationally significant topics, as well as supporting expert and academic exchange, the Institute organizes public lectures by prominent public figures, politicians and diplomats, conferences and round tables with the participation of Bulgarian and foreign experts. They are aimed at Bulgarian and foreign diplomats, state experts, representatives of the non-governmental, research and business sectors, which enables direct exchange between a wide range of interested parties. These are advocated and generalizations are generated that become part of the political mainstream and support the process of policy making.
