The Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute had the pleasure of conducting training for the newly elected Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations with a 2026–2027 mandate, Veselina Denchovska and Nia Kozleva, as well as for representatives of the Youth Section of the United Nations Association of Bulgaria, as part of its traditional institutional support for the programme.

The first training module was dedicated to “Digital Diplomacy and Strategic Communications” and was delivered by Nikolay Krumov, Chief Expert in the Public Affairs and Cooperation Department at the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute. The module explored the development and transformation of diplomatic communication in the digital environment, the role of information technologies and social media in contemporary diplomacy, the importance of institutional identity and online reputation, as well as countering disinformation online.

The second module, entitled “Protocol and Etiquette”, was delivered by Marina Vladimirova, Chief Expert in the Training, Research and Project Activities Department. It covered practical aspects of diplomatic protocol and etiquette, as well as professional conduct in an international environment. The training provided the youth delegates with practical guidance on official dress and formal statements, establishing professional contacts, and business communication.

We hope that the knowledge and skills acquired will support the preparation of the Bulgarian Youth Delegates to the United Nations for their forthcoming responsible work and contribute to the dignified representation of Bulgarian youth in the world’s largest international organisation.
