The ninth issue of the Foreign Policy Studies series of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, entitled “The Communication Strategy for the Accession to the European Union,” was published in February 2017.
This specialised English-language publication examines the communication strategies for EU accession in six countries: three EU Member States — Hungary, Bulgaria, and Croatia — and three countries negotiating their accession — Montenegro, Serbia, and the Republic of Macedonia.
The publication presents the results of the joint project of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute and the Hanns Seidel Foundation, “How to Communicate with the Public in the Context of European Integration” (2015–2017), which included an in-depth study of public policies in these countries throughout the EU accession process.
The publication features contributions by Prof. Dr. Eckart Stratenschulte, Director of the European Academy Berlin; Prof. Dr. Ingrid Shikova and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kaloyan Simeonov of the Department of European Studies at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”; Vladimir Shopov; and Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute experts Bilyana Decheva, Georgi Gergov and Teddy Ganchev.
