The specialised training course “Economic Diplomacy”, organised once again by the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, has successfully concluded.
The training brought together 25 representatives from 10 institutions within the Bulgarian public administration, who deepened their knowledge of key topics including international trade, investment, regional connectivity, development cooperation and financial relations, as well as the interplay between economic and foreign policy in support of Bulgaria’s national interests.
The course was opened by the Director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, Ms. Tanya Mihaylova, who highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy in the contemporary international environment and the role of interinstitutional cooperation in achieving economic objectives. She noted that the exchange of knowledge, experience and professional contacts represents a valuable investment, as it is people who build and develop institutions.
As part of the training programme, experts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, Investments and Industry, the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the National Statistical Institute, the Fiscal Council, the Energy Management Institute, diplomatic missions and other institutions delivered lectures and presentations on current topics.
The programme placed particular emphasis on Bulgaria’s path towards OECD membership, as well as on regional economic cooperation in Southeast Europe as a tool for protecting and advancing national priorities.
