The official meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the participating states of the Southeast European Cooperation Process (SEECP), dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the format, successfully concluded in Sofia. The event was held as part of Bulgaria’s Chairmanship of the Process under the motto “30 Years of SEECP – A Compass Towards Stability, Security and Resilience”.

In her opening remarks, Minister of Foreign Affairs Velislava Petrova stated that regional belonging and good-neighbourly relations form the foundation upon which SEECP builds its resilience and capacity to respond to challenges in a dynamic international environment. According to the Minister, European integration, human capital development, digital transformation and sustainable growth remain key priorities that require consistency, solidarity and a shared strategic horizon.

Minister Petrova also emphasised the need to strengthen regional cooperation in areas such as connectivity, energy resilience, economic growth, digital transformation, human capital development, and addressing emerging and hybrid challenges.

We are pleased to announce that young colleagues from the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, trainee attachés and junior specialists from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs participated in the organisation of this major event, which also included the SEECP Summit, serving as liaison officers for the official delegations.

They received special congratulations from Minister Velislava Petrova.
