The fourth and final module of the sixth edition of the Introduction Seminar for Newly Arrived Foreign Diplomats in Bulgaria, organised by the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, has been held.
Dedicated to Bulgarian culture, heritage and identity, the module offered participants an insight into the country’s rich traditions and vibrant contemporary cultural life.
The day began with a guided tour of central Sofia, including visits to the National Theatre and other iconic landmarks of the capital, as well as the National Ethnographic Museum, where diplomats learned about Bulgaria’s ethnographic regions and traditional customs.
The afternoon programme continued with a presentation on contemporary Bulgarian art by cultural theorist Ms. Vladiya Mihaylova, followed by a meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr Daria Karapetkova, Director of the Cultural Centre at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
The seminar concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants by Dr. Iordan Stoitchkov, Head of the Training, Research and Project Activities Department at the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, and Ms. Marina Vladimirova, Chief Expert and Coordinator in the same department.
We wish the 23 diplomats from 18 foreign diplomatic missions who took part in the seminar every success and a fruitful experience during their assignments in Bulgaria!
