During her visit to Geneva, Ms. Tanya Mihaylova, Director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, held a working meeting with Ms. Daria Robinson, Executive Director of GESDA, an organisation working in the field of anticipatory science diplomacy.
The meeting, held at the BioTech Campus, focused on opportunities for cooperation in the field of science diplomacy, which the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute has been developing in recent years. A specific objective is to organise a training programme in Bulgaria in 2027 for both diplomats and representatives of the country’s scientific and technological ecosystem.
GESDA provides a broad platform for dialogue, bringing together scientists from diverse disciplines and research fields, diplomats and government experts, including representatives of international organisations based in Geneva, specialists in frontier technologies and artificial intelligence, and business representatives. The organisation was established with the institutional backing and visionary support of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
Just days earlier, an expert from the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute had participated in the sixth annual GESDA Summit, where the organisation’s flagship tool, the Science Breakthrough Radar, was presented. It maps anticipated developments in science and technology across three time horizons: five, ten, and twenty-five years.
