The 29th issue of the bilingual Diplomacy Journal was published in February 2023. The issue focuses on articles related to the European Union’s agenda in the areas of political and economic integration, including the European Political Community project; myths and realities surrounding the introduction of the euro in Bulgaria; the EU’s values crisis and prospects for overcoming it; and the challenges to implementing the European approach to countering disinformation.
Another focus of the issue is the international legal aspects of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine nearly one year after its beginning. These include an analysis of Ukraine’s application against Russia before the International Court of Justice and the framework of the initial phase of the UN Security Council’s engagement with the conflict in Ukraine. The issue also features articles dedicated to regional cooperation in the field of environmental protection in the Baltic Sea region, as well as current aspects of Mexico’s foreign policy and its role in Central America. The issue is dedicated to our colleague Bilyana Decheva (1972–2022), who served as a member of the editorial board of Diplomacy Journal from its establishment until 2022.
