The 23th issue of Diplomacy Journal was published in January 2020. The issue is dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the Bulgarian diplomatic service, commemorated in 2019, and includes interviews with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zaharieva and Mr. Günter Verheugen, European Commissioner for Enlargement (1999–2004), as well as a historical overview of the Bulgarian diplomatic service during the period 1879–1944.
Other highlights of the issue include regional cooperation in the Balkans and Bulgaria’s Rotating Chairmanship of the Organisation of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) in 2019, as well as Bulgaria’s candidacy for membership in the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
