The 19th edition of the “Gavro Vuković” Summer School for Young Diplomats, organised by the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), took place from 21 to 26 June in Kolašin, Montenegro.
The event brought together junior diplomats and government officials from 48 countries. The Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute was represented by Ms. Iva Bakarova, Junior Expert at the Training, Research and Project Activities Department.
The programme included lectures and practical exercises exploring Montenegro’s development from the restoration of its independence in 2006 to the current stage of its European integration process. Particular emphasis was also placed on topics related to regional cooperation, security and defence, as well as the rapidly changing international order.
We would like to express our special appreciation to H.E. Mr. Stefan Dimitrov, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to Montenegro, who met with the Bulgarian participant during the training and provided valuable guidance regarding her future professional development.
As part of the summer school’s cultural programme, participants visited the capital Podgorica, as well as the towns of Cetinje, Žabljak, Budva and Kotor.
