The Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute had the pleasure of presenting the photo book Bulgaria Rediscovered by Peyo Kolev, published by the Bulgarian Art and Culture Foundation. The event was hosted by “The Mission” Gallery of the State Institute for Culture to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Peyo Kolev has a strong connection with the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute as the creator of its logo, as well as of the cover design of Diplomacy Journal.

During the presentation, Ms. Tanya Mihaylova, Director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, highlighted the publication’s research value, as well as the significance of the photographs and the stories accompanying them. Among the official guests at the event was Mr. Hristo Polendakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The book features original research and articles accompanied by photographs from the compiler’s collection, which provided the foundation for the website Lost Bulgaria. A special section is dedicated to Bulgarian diplomats who are less well known for their diplomatic work or who have faded into obscurity.
