Visit of the Director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute to the Bulgarian News Agency

The Director of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, Ms. Tanya Mihaylova, visited the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA), where she presented and gifted some of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute’s latest publications to BTA’s Director General, Mr. Kiril Valchev. In return, she received the Agency’s publication Events from the Archives 1898–2023 and the latest special issue of LIК magazine.

Among the publications presented by the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute were:

  • the latest issue of the bilingual Diplomacy Journal;
  • Live Archives, dedicated to the negotiation process for Bulgaria’s accession to NATO;
  • the book The Libyan Case: All Diplomatic Means, published by Knigomania;
  • Togetherness of Religions and Communities in Bulgaria: Dimensions of Publicity and Diplomacy with Universal Applicability, published in English and Arabic;
  • Popular Etiquette, a collection of original texts by experts from the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute;
  • The King Travels – a Bulgarian translation of the travel diary documenting the journey of King Ferdinand I to South America, originally published in 1928. The only copy of the German-language edition in Bulgaria is held by the Institute’s Library;
  • Bulgaria Discovered, an album by Peyo Kolev featuring archival photographs.

Some of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute’s latest publications are printed using the LIK typeface, created at the initiative of the Bulgarian News Agency by a team from the National Academy of Art. The typeface has been used by the Institute since February 2025.

As part of the longstanding cooperation between the two institutions, the two directors discussed new joint initiatives in the fields of public diplomacy and publishing.

The meeting was also attended by journalist Georgi Milkov, an author and editor of several publications of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute.
