
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova met at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the XIX class of the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute, “Dr. Georgi Valkovich”. The members of the class have successfully passed the examination for the award of the first diplomatic rank, Attaché, and have now taken up their respective diplomatic positions.
“Be courageous, confident and always stand up for Bulgaria’s interests, wherever your professional path may take you,” Minister Petrova told the young diplomats. She emphasized that diplomacy requires strategic thinking and the ability to make decisions in a complex and dynamic international environment.
Velislava Petrova stressed that the Ministry’s most valuable resource is its people. She identified professional development, fair remuneration and creating opportunities for career advancement for diplomatic service employees as key priorities.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the young diplomats’ first professional challenges, their work in the Ministry’s various directorates, and opportunities for career development within the diplomatic service. Minister Petrova encouraged them to take initiative, propose new ideas and solutions, and put forward and defend their views with well-founded arguments.
